The rift that was caused in the Democrat National Committee by the Bernie Sanders challenge to Hillary Clinton in the primaries has apparently not gone away; in fact it seems to be getting wider. It was supposed to have been repaired when Tom Perez, the choice of the Clinton wing of the party, was elected chairman of the DNC and then named Keith Ellison of the progressive Sanders wing as his vice chairman. However, since then progressives have claimed there is an on-going purge of its members on the committee and the staff. If this continues into next year it will make it even more difficult for the democrats to take back Congress.
