NPR Ends Kaspersky Underwriting

Oct 13, 2017

National Public Radio announced that Kaspersky Lab is no longer a corporate underwriter. Agencies of the U.S. government believe that Kaspersky is tied to the Russian government. Possible evidence emerged recently that “Russian hackers have been using Kaspersky Lab antivirus software as a gateway for hacking . . . “ The software is used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Hackers allegedly turned the software “into a sort of Google search for sensitive information.” Recently, an employee of the National Security Agency had his home computer hacked and classified information stored improperly on his computer was stolen. Several weeks ago, President Trump ordered government agencies to stop using and remove Kaspersky anti-virus software on all their computer systems. Kaspersky Labs denies any ties to the Kremlin or any other government.
