Vice President Walks Out of Football Game

Oct 9, 2017

Vice President Pence attended an Indianapolis Colts football game Sunday and then left. Several of the 49ers players knelt during the national anthem. The vice president tweeted, “I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem." At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us. However, Democrats proceeded to pounce on the event and tweeted, Don’t let these guys tell you they are fiscal conservatives This was a multi million dollar political stunt paid for by taxpayers.” Democrats may have a point. It’s well known that players have been kneeling for the anthem. Attending a game, knowing full well that you intend to leave would be a waste of money and time. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington tweeted, “Can we just make it through a weekend without this administration abusing taxpayer dollars with jet travel!?
