Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico Criticized for her anti-Trump remarks

Oct 2, 2017

Yulin Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico made a passionate plea for more help from the federal government and criticized Trump for committing what amounts to “genocide” against the Puerto Rican people. It was quickly pointed out that she made these remarks while standing in front of a mountain of supplies that had been brought in by federal agencies, but were not being distributed by her city government.

She also was rebuked by other Puerto Rican officials including the mayor of a neighboring city who praised the response of the feds, and pointed out that while he and other mayors met with FEMA and other officials on a daily basis, Cruz did not bother to attend most of the meetings.
