Fewer NFL Players Participate in Anthem Protests

Oct 2, 2017

Apparently, the angry messages of fans being sent to the NFL over last week’s anthem protests have had a significant impact. Only a hand full of players either took a knee or raised a fist during the anthem this week, the largest number being nine members of the Cleveland Browns who stood with a fist raised. On some teams like Tennessee and the Los Angeles Rams only a single player registered a protest.

In the case of the Dallas Cowboys the entire team stood respectfully at attention during the anthem, as is required by the NFL rules. Players were reminded of that rule by the NFL this past week. However, angry fans still booed those who did protest.
