Document Request Sent to White House

Sep 21, 2017

Special counsel Robert Mueller is asking the White House “to turn over documents” that are related to the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. Mueller’s office prepared a document “detailing 13 different areas that his investigators want to know more about.” The special counsel’s office is asking for information surrounding the firing of Michael Flynn, the Oval Office meeting with several Russian officials, and the White House response to Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer. The president’s lawyer, Ty Cobb, told the special counsel’s office that he would “turn over many of the documents this week.” The president’s firing of Comey eventually led to the appointment of Robert Mueller. Critics of the firing say that President Trump was trying to obstruct justice.
