An earthquake registering 7.1 magnitude has struck a large area in Mexico including heavily populated Mexico City. Over 120 are confirmed dead and the toll is expected to rise dramatically as desperate efforts continue to rescue people trapped in collapsed buildings. The center of the quake was about 76 miles from Mexico City in the state of Puebla that is also heavily populated.
Rescue efforts continue to be hampered by strong aftershocks that keep rescuers from entering some damaged structures. This is the second large quake to hit Mexico this month and it came on the anniversary of the 1985 quake that killed over 5,000 people.
