Nuclear Weapons Test in North Korea Causing Unexpected Consequences

Sep 18, 2017

The most recent test of a nuclear device by North Korea may be causing problems that could not only endanger its own people but also the Chinese. The detonation of what the Kim Jong Un regime claims was a hydrogen bomb has resulted in unusual seismic activity in an active volcano on the North Korean border with China. The Mount Paektu volcano is a sacred site to the North Korean people, and scientists know that something is happening as a result of the nuclear test. A landside is a definite possibility, and one may already have occurred.

However, the fear of an eruption has prompted the Chinese to shut down access to a national nature preserve on the Chinese side of the border which is next to the volcano.
