Roy Moore Continues To Lead In Alabama Race

Sep 18, 2017

President Trump will campaign for incumbent Senator Luther Strange this coming Saturday. The president tweeted, “I will be in Huntsville, Alabama, on Saturday night to support Luther Strange for Senate. ‘Big Luther’ is a great guy who gets things done!” Currently Judge Roy Moore is leading by double digits in the GOP primary runoff according to a recent survey. “Mitch McConnell’s gang can put out all the fake news polls they want, but every single independent pollster has shown Roy Moore with at least a ten point lead,” said a strategist. It’s questionable that the president will be able to affect Luther Strange’s standing in the polls. 83 percent of Republicans view the president “somewhat or very favorable.” But Republican voters don’t care that the president has endorsed Strange “and won’t vote for Strange anyway.” Senator Mitch McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund has spent millions to support Strange. Representative Mo Brooks came in third in the first primary. He later endorsed Roy Moore and is campaigning for him throughout Alabama.
