During the violent path that Irma has followed in the past week, whole islands in the Caribbean have been almost totally destroyed, the states of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina have had many homes and businesses damaged or totally destroyed. While not as powerful as it was feared to be when it hit the United States the hurricane has left millions without power and the storms wrath is not over yet.
The heavy rain and storm surge is still causing rivers to rise and flood more homes and businesses. Recovery will take a long time and cost billions.
