The owner of a Dairy Queen in Wisconsin is happy to be politically incorrect. And now he’s famous for it.
Kevin Scheunemann has a sign on the door to his franchise warning customers.
“This restaurant is politically incorrect.” The message warns that employees “have been known to say Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, God Bless America.”
Other offending things employees might do is give away free ice cream sundaes to veteran on Veterans Day.
He first posted the sign after a customer took offense at Christian music being played in the store.
"I felt the sign was appropriate to hang in terms of being transparent about the views of the owner and staff supporting God and country. It just seems that those kinds of values and principles are becoming controversial in society.”
Although the sign serves as fair warning, a customer was triggered. Ashley Coleman of Oregon took a picture of the sign and posted it to her Facebook account proclaiming, “I find this extremely offensive. Please speak with the franchise owner.”
The Wisconsin community is rallying around Scheunemann. Business is picking up.
Local state senator Duey Stroebel said the sign was “creating a blizzard” of “offended snowflakes.”
