How Much Longer for Gary Cohn?

Sep 9, 2017

The president’s chief economic adviser may be on his way out. Gary Cohn until recently was being considered for Chairman of the Federal Reserve when Janet Yellen’s term expires. Cohn reportedly has fallen out of favor with President Trump because of criticism he leveled against the president for remarks made by Trump in the aftermath of Charlottesville. In remarks to the Financial Times, Cohn said the administration “can and must do better” to condemn neo-Nazis and “do everything we can to heal the deep divisions that exist in our communities.” The president is said to hate Cohn and wanted him fired after Cohn’s remarks in the Financial Times interview. Economist Larry Kudlow is rumored to be considered as Cohn’s replacement for the position of chief economic adviser.
