The failure of the Republicans in the Senate to vote to repeal and replace Obamacare has virtually insured that the collapse of Obamacare is accelerating. Several Insurance Commissioners from states like Alaska and Tennessee recently testified before Congress about the out of control spiraling of insurance premiums in their states. In Alaska, for example, a person in the market who was paying a monthly premium of $344 in 2013 will now be paying $1,041.
Ironically, the Republican Senator from Alaska, Lisa Murkowski was one of the votes that kept Obamacare alive. Now, instead of trying again to fulfill their campaign promise some Republicans are preparing to work with Democrats to temporarily bail out Obamacare.
