Harvey Death Toll Continues to Rise

Sep 7, 2017

At least seventy deaths in Texas have now been attributed to Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. The toll includes deaths reported from thirteen different counties. with Harris county, where Houston is located, reporting the highest toll. Most of the deaths were caused by drowning although several people died as a result of not being able to be transported to hospitals when they developed life threatening situations.

Another death occurred when a lineman was electrocuted while trying to restore power to a community outside of Houston. Since the water in many locations is still receding and many people are believed to be missing the death toll is expected to continue rising.
