As the water gradually recedes in Houston and other parts of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana the search and rescue efforts continue with more victims being discovered. The death toll is now officially at sixty and is expected to rise. At least 100,000 homes have been destroyed as well as countless businesses and vehicles.
In the meantime, residents of Florida and other parts of the east coast are making preliminary preparations for another powerful hurricane. Irma is now a category 4 storm and is expected to strengthen as it plows through the Caribbean. Its final target is still unknown.
