New Hurricane Develops in the Atlantic

Sep 1, 2017

It is the peak of the hurricane season that runs until the beginning of November and while Harvey still churns though the middle of the country as a tropical depression another powerful system is developing in the Atlantic Ocean. Hurricane Irma is a category 2 storm that is expected to strengthen to a category 3 or higher over the next few days.

Its exact path is not known, but it is feared that it will enter the Caribbean and possibly become a threat to the United States Coast. The National weather Service will be closely monitoring this storm, particularly in light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.
