Texans Face Numerous Possible Health Problems

Sep 1, 2017

While the floodwaters are receding in some parts of Texas and Louisiana it continues to rise in other parts of the state such as on the Brazos River and other waterways head for record high crests. It may be weeks before many people will access their flooded homes, and when they do they will be facing additional problems such as contaminated water, lack of drinking water, the risk of diseases from mosquitos and mold, as well as shortages of critical needs such as medicine.

The recovery is expected to take years, not just weeks or months and will cost billions of dollars that Congress will have to appropriate.
