President Pledges Government Resources

Aug 29, 2017

President Trump vowed on Monday that Texas would get “every asset under my command” as Hurricane Harvey continued its destruction. The president made it clear that if there is a government shut down over border wall funding, Texas would still get everything it needs to recover. It’s expected that 500,000 people may be seeking disaster relief because of the flooding. The president praised Americans for working together to aid Texans. “Tragic times bring out the best in Americans character, strength, charity, and resilience. We see neighbors helping neighbors, friends helping friends and strangers helping strangers. You see that all over. You see it on television, such incredible work and love and teamwork. We are one American family. We hurt together. We struggle together.” The president plans to visit parts of Texas on Tuesday.
