High Tech Sale to Drug Cartels Goes Awry

Aug 11, 2017

A tech employee tried to sell satellite tracking technology to Mexican drug cartels. The former Honeywell employee had the tracking technology. Federal agents, posing as buyers of the technology, arrested Robert Miller on federal fraud charges. Miller demonstrated the technology in a live demonstration to undercover agents. The technology would have give drug cartels a huge advantage over American law enforcement. Cartels would have been able to track law enforcement aircraft and boats. The technology is used by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
