DOJ Sent talking Points to FBI to Use about Clinton/Lynch Tarmac Meeting

Aug 10, 2017

It appears there was an obvious effort to cover up what really occurred during the meeting between Bill Clinton and the then attorney general Loretta Lynch on the airport tarmac in Phoenix, Arizona. This meeting occurred just prior to the election while Hillary Clinton was under investigation by the FBI.

While the meeting was supposed to have occurred in secret, it was discovered by a local reporter. That is when the story broke and attorneys in the Justice Department edited the responses to media inquiries and then sent emails to the FBI directing the agency about how the story should be covered and what talking points to use. Around that time Lynch also told James Comey to refer to the Clinton probe as a “matter” instead of an investigation.
