Federal agents have announced a major drug raid in the Upper West Side of New York City. Agents seized 20 pounds of fentanyl and heroin worth an estimated $3 million on the open market. Fentanyl is an opioid that in its purest form is deadly, and agents for the Drug Enforcement Agency said this much of it, if mishandled, could kill half the population of New York City.
Four people were arrested during the raid and were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy. This is the latest move in the growing war on dangerous opioids that are killing more people every day.
