Nevada Judge Says Having a Gun in Presence of an Officer is Assault

Apr 5, 2017

Witnesses at the first batch of defendants in the Bundy Nevada standoff trial where shocked as US District Judge Gloria Navarro stated that the simple act of having a weapon visible in the sight of an officer is sufficient for the officer to perceive assault. This is an incredible interpretation given that in the state of Nevada open carry of a firearm is completely legal and no exception is made for the presence of police or other agents of the state or federal governments. The judge also gave a severe time restriction to the defense forcing them to cancel many of the defense witnesses.
